Payout
What it is
A payout is a transfer of funds from an Account balance to your bank account (IBAN). It has its own identifier, amount, currency, payout date, status, grouping details, and payout attempts.
If the credit transfer for a payout fails the same payout will be tried again and get a new payout attempt, instead of creating a new payout. This is done to prevent failed credit transfers from interfering with the account balance and maintain a clear link between transactions and the payouts in which they are included.
Why it exists
It exists to represent the movement of collected funds out of the platform balance. This separates payment collection from fund disbursement and gives visibility into when and how money is paid out.
How it relates to other concepts
A payout belongs to an Account. The account defines payout settings such as payout IBAN and grouping. Payout grouping can align a payout to merchant, store, or terminal context. Payout searches and retrieval let you inspect payout history.
