Wero Scenarios
In the sandbox, Wero payments are simulated. The request never reaches Wero and the consumer does not need the Wero app. The consumer is redirected straight to your returnUrl and the payment completes within one to two seconds.
The amount of the sale selects the scenario. The currency must be EUR and the amount must be one of the twelve amounts below. Any other amount or currency is rejected when you create the sale:
Sandbox accepts only the documented Wero test amounts EUR 47.01 - 47.12 (received EUR 10.00)
Sandbox accepts only the documented Wero test amounts EUR 47.01 - 47.12 (received EUR 10.00)
Scenarios
| Amount | Scenario | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 47.01 | Success | Payment succeeds. Refunds succeed. Cancelling an authorization succeeds. |
| 47.02 | Consent denied | The consumer denies the payment. The transaction is Cancelled. |
| 47.03 | Consent timed out | The consumer does not act in time. The transaction is Expired. |
| 47.04 | Authorization rejected | Wero rejects the authorization. The transaction is Failed. |
| 47.05 | Authorization failed | The authorization request fails technically. The transaction is Failed. |
| 47.06 | Capture rejected | The authorization succeeds, the capture is rejected. Buckaroo retries once, the retry is rejected as well. The transaction is Failed. |
| 47.07 | Capture failed | The authorization succeeds, the capture fails technically. Buckaroo retries once, the retry fails as well. The transaction is Failed. |
| 47.08 | Capture pending forever | The authorization succeeds, the capture never settles. The transaction stays Pending. |
| 47.09 | Capture pending, then settled | The capture is Pending first. It settles when Buckaroo polls it, between 5 minutes and 1 hour after creation. Use this to test a late Successful webhook. |
| 47.10 | Refund rejected | Payment succeeds. Every refund on this payment is rejected. |
| 47.11 | Refund failed | Payment succeeds. Every refund request on this payment fails technically. |
| 47.12 | Cancel authorization failed | Payment succeeds. Cancelling the authorization fails. Create the sale with intentType Authorize to have an authorization to cancel. |
Amounts are compared as decimals, so 47.1 and 47.10 are the same scenario.
Refunds and cancellations
A refund or cancellation follows the scenario of the original payment, not its own amount. A partial refund of EUR 5.00 on a 47.10 payment is rejected. A refund of EUR 5.00 on a 47.01 payment succeeds.
Payer details
Every simulated payment carries the same payer:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | Sandbox Payer |
| IBAN | NL91ABNA0417164300 |
| Country | NL |
Not simulated
- Invoice QR and static QR payments. Scanning a sandbox QR code opens the Wero universal link, which needs the Wero app. These flows cannot be completed in the sandbox.
- Settlement. Simulated payments do not appear in settlement reports.
