Buck Smart Fixed
First installation
- Remove the terminal from the box.
- Check if everything is included (terminal, power adapter).
- Connect the internet cable:
- From the terminal, a cable runs to a small box with ports.
- Insert the network cable (RJ45) into the LAN port.
- Connect the network cable to your router.
- Connect the power supply:
- Insert the USB-C cable into the Power port.
- Plug it into the nearest power outlet.
- Press and hold the power button on the left side of the terminal for five seconds, then release it. Once the terminal has fully started up, it will automatically open the payment application.
Installation of card acceptance
Ready for immediate use
If you have received this payment terminal, no further action is required to connect it to your bank or activate credit cards. We have already taken care of this. The terminal is ready for use.
Powering on/off
To turn on the payment terminal, simply connect the power supply. The terminal will start up automatically.
If you want to turn the terminal on or off manually, press and hold the power button (5) on the left side of the terminal for 3 seconds.
Once the Buck Smart Fixed has fully started up, it will automatically open the payment application.
Connecting to Wi-Fi
From the main screen:
- Press SETTINGS.
- Press Network & Internet.
- Enable Wi-Fi (if necessary).
- Press Wi-Fi.
- Select the Wi-Fi network you want to connect to.
- Enter the Wi-Fi password/key and press Connect.
The payment terminal is now connected to Wi-Fi.
Main menu
From the main screen, you can access the menu by pressing the MENU BUTTON (Menu Button Buck Smart). In the menu, you will find options such as:
- Payment
- Refund
- Receipt copy
- Reports
- Settings
- Technical menu
You can select menu items by tapping on them. To exit the menu and return to the main screen, press the GREEN ARROW button.
Processing payments
Making a payment
There are two ways to initiate a payment:
- Press/select the MENU BUTTON and then select PAYMENT.
- Press the Payment button directly.
Next:
- Enter the amount using the numeric keys (0-9).
- If you make a mistake, delete it by pressing the CLEAR BUTTON (C).
- Confirm the correct amount by pressing the GREEN BUTTON (OK).
- The payment terminal will display the total amount and request a payment card.
- Depending on the type of card, it can be inserted into the chip reader on the side (9) or tapped on the printer cover (8) using a card or smartphone.
- For chip transactions and contactless payments above € 50,- the next screen will request a PIN. The customer must enter their PIN and confirm with the GREEN BUTTON (OK).
- The terminal processes the payment — please wait until it is completed.
- After a successful transaction, a receipt will be printed.
- If a chip card was used, the customer must remove their card. The terminal will then return to the main screen.
Refunds/reverse payments
Note: This terminal supports reverse payments, but specific conditions apply. If you wish to use this feature, please contact our helpdesk first.
- On the main screen, press the MENU BUTTON.
- Select REFUND (Reverse Payment Icon) to process a refund.
- The terminal will request a PASSWORD.
- Enter your 5-digit code and confirm with the GREEN BUTTON (OK).
- Enter the refund amount using the numeric keys (0-9) and confirm with the GREEN BUTTON (OK).
- The terminal will display the total amount and request a payment card. The card can be inserted into the chip reader on the side (9) or tapped on the printer cover (8).
- The terminal will process the refund — please wait until it is completed.
- After a successful refund, a receipt will be printed. If a chip card was used, the customer must remove their card.
- The terminal will then return to the main screen.
Receipt copy
- On the main screen, press the MENU BUTTON.
- Select RECEIPT COPY to view the last approved transaction.
- The terminal will display the status of the most recent transaction.
Tip: Unsure if a transaction was successful? Use the receipt copy function to view or print the last approved transaction.
Reports
All transactions can be viewed on your personal transaction overview page. You can select a specific period or day to see the total transactions.
Language selection
- On the main screen, press the MENU BUTTON.
- Press SETTINGS.
- Press LANGUAGE SELECTION.
- Choose your preferred language.
- After confirmation, the terminal will return to the main screen.
Login option
The login option is designed to link card payments to individuals or groups. You can enable this feature in your personal account.
To activate this function:
- Click on the icon of the payment terminal where you want to enable this feature.
- In the same menu, you will also find the FIXED AMOUNT option, which will be explained later.
Logging in onto the terminal
- On the main screen, press the MENU BUTTON.
- Select SETTINGS, then LOGIN.
- Enter your code/name and confirm by pressing the GREEN BUTTON (OK).
Each payment will now be registered under your code/name. These details can be accessed in your personal account.
Setting a fixed amount
Note: The functions Set Fixed Amount, Pay with Fixed Amount, and Pay with a Different Amount are currently unavailable. They will be available soon.
There are situations where the same amount is charged repeatedly — such as restroom access, event parking, or entry fees. To simplify the process, you can set a fixed amount on the payment terminal. This eliminates the need to manually enter the same amount each time.
To enable this feature:
- Activate it in your personal account.
- After making the change, update your payment terminal.
- In your personal account, click on the icon of the payment terminal where you want to enable this function.
- In the same menu, you will find the FIXED AMOUNT option.
How to set a fixed amount
- On the main screen, press the MENU BUTTON.
- Select SETTINGS.
- Press FIXED AMOUNT.
- Enter the amount (in cents). Note: The amount is displayed in cents.
- Confirm by pressing the GREEN BUTTON (OK).
Paying with a fixed amount
Once a fixed amount is set, you can start a payment by pressing the Payment Button on the main screen. The preset amount will be displayed, allowing you to start the transaction immediately.
Paying with a different amount
This option is only available if ALLOW DIFFERENT AMOUNT is enabled in your account.
- On the main screen, press the MENU BUTTON.
- Select PAYMENT.
- Enter a different amount (in cents) and confirm by pressing the GREEN BUTTON (OK).
- Follow the standard payment process.
