Buckaroo IBAN Solution

Buckaroo offers a service to create a bank account for each merchant, providing them with their own IBAN. This service, known as Buckaroo IBAN Solution, is available to any merchant processing SEPA Credit Transfers. The account holder's name for this account is Stichting Derdengelden Buckaroo.

Additionally, Buckaroo offers the Buckaroo IBAN Solution Premium, which allows the merchant’s name to appear as the account holder for better recognition on consumer bank statements. More details about this premium service can be found on the Buckaroo IBAN Solution Premium page.

Finding Your Buckaroo IBAN

  1. Log in to Buckaroo Plaza.
  2. Navigate to "My Buckaroo" in the left menu.
  3. Click on "Accounts".
  4. The Buckaroo IBAN will be listed next to "Buckaroo IBAN".

Types of Accounts

  • Buckaroo IBAN: A real bank account with actual debits and credits at the bank. It can be communicated to consumers and will appear on their bank statements. It is not used for accounting purposes, but Buckaroo processes and reconciles the bank statements from this account.
  • Virtual IBAN: A non-existent account used to keep track of the balance on the merchant account. Transactions (e.g., credit card or Bancontact payments) are recorded here and are identified by the bank code "BUCK". This account is used for accounting purposes.

Impact of the Buckaroo IBAN

  • SEPA Credit Transfers will display the merchant's Buckaroo IBAN to the consumer.
    • Merchants can include these account details in their communications (emails, website).
  • Unmatched incoming transfers are assigned to the merchant for manual processing via the Buckaroo Payment Analyzer (Plaza > Services > Payment Analyzer > Assigned Payments).
    • Merchants can link payments to transactions/invoices, deposit them using an invoice number, or return them to the payer.
  • The "Buckaroo Payment Analyzer" role can be assigned to employees handling incoming payments.
  • Unmatched transfers can be automatically deposited but will not be linked to an existing invoice or transaction.

Refunds

  • Refunds carried out by bank transfer methods (e.g., iDEAL, Credit transfer, SEPA Direct Debit, Giropay) use the Buckaroo IBAN, meaning the consumer sees this account on their bank statement.
  • Refunds not performed via bank transfer (e.g., PayPal, Credit Card, AfterPay) are unaffected by the Buckaroo IBAN.
